One of the Handmade items I have been making for years is a Laptop Sleeve - Knitted or Crocheted with yarns!

These Laptop Sleeves are Knitted or Crocheted in Double Strand Yarn -- and are great for protecting a Laptop Sleeve or Tablet -- and they are in delightful colors!

This Hat I make is truly Handmade - each one ordered will be made specifically per the Customer's selections of Color and of Adult Size ( 20 Inches to 25 Inches around Head).

It is Crocheted in So-Soft Caron Simply Soft Yarn in a 2-Color Design as pictured above in Autumn Red and Bone - the Color Options are:

ECO LAPTOP SOCK -- A New Form of Handmade Reusable Bag I Made

I got a Laptop for myself a few months back and decided that I wanted something to protect it and cushion and "hide" it.


I had heard of Laptop Socks or Sleeves -- and I decided to make myself one in yarn.


It was my first and an experiment and totally my own design.


To make it thick, I knitted in Garter Stitch with double-strand yarn -- and I made it to fit my laptop exactly. I finished off the edges with a nice crocheted crab stitch!! Took a while to make because I did it in my spare time, as it was for myself, but I made sure I got it made for when I was going to be away for a couple days and was taking my laptop with me, as I wanted it to have something to protect it while traveling.


I got it done and it fit fine and did all I wanted it to (cushion and protect and hide)!














Then I realized I needed something to put the cords and all in -- so I made what I call a matching Gadget Bag.











Now, it was time to see about making one to sell.


I decided I wanted it to be ECO in design, materials and subject or theme. So I decided to make the outside or back of it a knitted tapestry of a tree - dark green on light green. Then in choosing the yarn, I wanted something soft and ECO, so I chose Caron Simply Soft ECO, which is partially made of recycled plastic bottles. I already had the design of the tree charted and just needed to modify it to fit this pattern.


So now weeks later -- I have it done (with its own Gadget Bag) and listed on Etsy: my ECO Tree Tapestry Laptop Sock!!






































Have to see how this does on Etsy -- there are others made by others, but I this is totally my own design and I think a bit unique!!

A HOOD AND ATTACHED SCARF FOR KEEPING WARM IN COLD WEATHER!!

I found a pattern for this really neat head covering for the winter. I think it is particularly good for keeping your head and neck warm.

It is a hood with an attached scarf and a tassel:

What I think is so great about it - is that it is all one piece rather than having a separate hat and scarf and it is long enough to cover the head and the back of your neck and the scarf ends in front tie to close it in the front.

The yarn it is crocheted in is this wonderful silky soft yarn, Caron Simply Soft Eco (see info on it on their website: http://www.shopcaron.com/). It is acrylic, which I like for winter -- things made in it are warm and it is easily washable. An additional bonus is that it is eco-friendly - at least 20% of it is post-consumer recyled plastic, which is hard to believe with its soft silky feel.

I did this one in colors for this season - a beautiful red called Wine Country - and a beautiful green called Pine. I love the combinations of these colors and it has been a particularly popular color combination in past years in my craft selling.

Of course, I can do it in other colors and other sizes.
