One of the Features that I really like on Etsy.com is their Member-Curated Galleries called "Treasury". I have written about them before - but now they have a new one (it is still in Beta, but it is functioning)!

It is called Treasury East - it has 16 slots for 16 Etsy listings to be featured - and, so far, it is permanent and editable by the Curator.

I created my first one yesterday:
WHITE FLOWER BEAUTIES !!





It has a combination of Etsy items from people who are Thread Artists on Etsy (search "threadartiststeam" under Handmade on Etsy) and in Design Style Guide (search "designstyleguide" under Handmade on Etsy). I went through different shops on Etsy and found these 16 items of -- WHITE FLOWERS!!

All beautiful and Handmade!!

As it is permanent, I plan to maintain it, checking it regularly to see if anything has sold -- and replacing the sold items with newer Etsy listings.

My Etsy Team, Thread Artists of Etsy has been having an ARTISTIC CHALLENGE of -- VALENTINES!!!

It is on our Team Blog and there are somewhat less than 24 hours left for voting in it!!

The HEARTS AND FLOWERS TABLE RUNNER that I have in the Artistic Challenge (vote for RSS Designs In Fiber in the poll if you like it) is just one of quite a few items I have made over the years that are Hearts -- or have Hearts in them!!

Hearts are a symbol of so many types of relationships -- from dear, close friendships to deep romantic ones to just an indication of liking something -- but no matter how you look at it, a Heart of whatever kind usually means something positive!!!

I've been reading -- BLUE and WHITE are a rather popular Decor Color Theme. I have seen books about it! From Elegant to some Country Styles to Nautical and Beach Themes, as well as the Jewish Themes, BLUE and WHITE is a well-known color theme -- though it can be in different shades of BLUE!!

These BLUE and/or WHITE items pictured in this article, Hand-Crocheted by me, are some examples of work I have done in this color theme for decor. Each photo links to the item listed in my online shop, RSS DESIGNS IN FIBER.

An Etsy TREASURY To Brighten Up Our Winter Days!!

Never sure which holidays people celebrate these days -- sometimes get surprised actually communicating with some about it, but no matter the holiday or any time, many of us enjoy decorating our homes and work spaces to brighten up our days -- and Red and Green -- colors in Nature as well as popular winter holidays -- certainly brighten up those shorter winter days inside!!

So, I searched on Etsy from my Etsy Teams, Design Style Guide and Etsy Thread Artists, to see what could be found on Etsy in these cheery colors -- and I managed to find a few items I really liked!!

All Handmade!! Yes, people actually carefully make these rather unique beautiful items with their own hands!

The image above is of a TREASURY or Member-Curated Gallery (curated by me) of these Red and Green items I found listed on Etsy. You can find it on Etsy here - until it expires at 11:58 am Tuesday morning.

In the real one on Etsy, the images link to the listings they represent, but after Tuesday morning, it will be gone.

Here on my blog, the image will stay though it will link to "nowhere" - but you can still find these items or similar ones on Etsy!!

One of the things I love about Etsy is the creativity in the Handmade items all over the shops.

There are various ways you can show this -- you can do what they call "Etsy Minis" of items from your own shop - or your favorites - and, I believe, of some Gift Guides. Then you can put the "Etsy Minis" wherever will take the code (then it links to the items on Etsy) - or you can make an image of the Etsy Mini to put in things.

But the Etsy Teams I belong to have come up with all kinds of additional ways to show our creative items on the Internet - various Blog postings and websites.

As I have talked about before, I am in 3 Etsy Teams:

FALL Table Decor

I have been making and selling my crochet for about 6 years in various ways and places.

I have found that one of the most popular times of years that people are looking for decorations is FALL!

All different kinds of things in what is considered FALL COLORS!

• Orange
• Gold Yellow
• Coppery Browns
• Ecru and other beiges

Over the years I have made all kinds of things - from small trinkets or coasters to medium and large doilies to table runners.

All kinds of leaves - Maple Leaves, Oak Leaves and Generic Leaf patterns!!

All kinds of patterns in beiges and golds.

Most of what I make for the Fall season is Inspired by Nature - the colors and things of nature!

In the years that I have been crocheting and knitting, I have found that there are some people who love crocheted or knitted table decor, but really only like the little ones or small ones -- I usually call them "Trinket" Doilies or Coasters.

So, I try to have my Designs In Fiber in a variety of sizes - and a bunch of smaller ones -- some in sets and some individually.

Some match larger items -- some are just on their own -- and some are in sets.

Everything is in cotton -- here are photos of various of "My Little DESIGNS IN FIBER". Some of them link to where they are being sold in my Etsy shop (they can be in different sections of my shop). Others have been sold or given away - those are towards the end of this post and don't link to anywhere.

These pictures are of a few items that have sold over time - but in most cases, I could re-make them in the same or similar colors -- and in the same or various sizes!

Yet Another TREASURY on ETSY: These BRIGHT SUNNY SUMMER Days!!

I am really getting into making these Treasuries - or Galleries - on Etsy.

It takes a bit of time to find the items to put in it -- and then you have to find the time to get the slot for it, but I still find it enjoyable and I think it is worth the time. (I am still finding time to crochet and/or knit inbetween all the "online stuff".)

This Treasury is about our Bright, Sunny days this Summer: "These BRIGHT SUNNY SUMMER Days"!!

I was pleasantly surprised when I searched on Etsy in my 3 Etsy Teams (DesignStyleGuide, TeamEcoEtsy, ThreadArtists) - and found such great Arts and Crafts of Sunny things!!

The screen shot above shows what is in it -- but you should go to it on Etsy and click on the individual pictures and really take a look at what is there!!

ETSY VOTER - 6/22/2009 AMERICANA DECOR - AND I'M IN IT!!!

I believe in exercising my right to Vote -- and that includes on ETSY!!

ETSY has a Voter -- each week from Monday morning to the following Monday morning 7 days later, there is a Gallery of items you can view and then Vote on the one you prefer.

I have been following this fairly regularly for about the last month -- I think it is a great way to voice one's taste and help get the items you prefer on Etsy in the Gift Guides.

You see, that is what happens -- is a certain number of them who are at the top of the voting get into the Gift Guide for that theme.

The last few weeks when I voted, though I have never voted for the one that got the most votes, the one I voted for was up there in the top 10. I admit -- one time I didn't vote at all because I couldn't choose one item to vote for -- none of them were really to my taste, which is unusual!

I am a big fan of HANDMADE!! Been doing HANDMADE since I was a kid - maybe a toddler - got my first camera at 6!!

Anyway -- if you look at the picture (screen shot) at the top of this page, you will see an image of the Etsy Voter as I saw it this morning when I checked it - except one of the items has a red border on it -- that is my item that got put in this week's Voter:

"Basket - Doily Lace Bowl" -- in Shaded Blues and White :

I have included all the pictures of it in this post, so you can see it from different angles and get a good idea of what it is.

It is a decorative Basket or Bowl in Lace --

-- made in DMC Pearl Cotton size 8 in what I call "Shaded Blues" -- a high quality thread of variegated blues with white. It is shaped and stiffened with glue -- and has a blue satin ribbon running through it.

Blue and White is definitely AMERICANA!!

I am also a big supporter of our country -- its Constitution and its Bill of Rights -- I believe in Democracy -- and exercising your right to Vote!!

So, Please -- I invite you and encourage you to Vote in the Etsy Voter -- and exercise your right to vote your taste for what gets in the Gift Guides on ETSY!!

Here is a screen shot of a Treasury I put together on ETSY and got up very early Tuesday morning: SUMMER FLOWERS IN LACE.
