In Southern California, a warmer climate, there are Flowers that bloom all year long - though, depending on the exact spot and how cold it has gotten, it can greatly vary what and how much they bloom.  But in Spring, they start blooming more and more - and they are all the Inspiration for the Crochet Flower pieces I make!!

This 14 1/2 Inch Diameter Doily with Shamrocks and the Yellow Flowers that accompany them often usually represents early spring - March - but in Southern California I very often see the "Shamrocks" or "Clover" with or without flowers all year long - when it rains or they are watered, they add a bright green ground cover that I really like!!

The Bright Red of the Flowers in this Doily may be a good representation of the some of the Brighter Colors for the coming Spring!!

I decided to make these Flowers with an unusual thread - a DMC Embroidery Floss in the "Color Variations" Line, which has a blend of Reds in it - just beautiful!

In these 2 Closeups, you can see the Red Floss Thread clearly - especially the second one - showing  one motif really close up!

~~ This Second Closeup is of one corner of the Red Flower Square Doily - and you can see the Red Floss I used - and the Lace Design - clearly!

The Square Doily can also be displayed as a Diamond like this:

By the way, "Cherry Tomato" is one of Pantone's Colors for Spring 2018 - a really Bright, Bold Red, which definitely is one of the colors that "...encourages a sense of fun and playful release." (Quote from the Pantone Article for Spring 2018 Color Palette! -- I think Colors are such fun -- and Pantone with its Color Trends is fun, too!!!)

Romantic Irish Crochet Hearts - In Threads or Yarns - Some Beaded!!




I've been crocheting these Irish Crochet Lace  Hearts since shortly after I started crocheting with Threads!  This is a new one I did All Pink - including beading it with Pale Pink Beads!  It is small Trinket size - about 5 Inches High and Wide. The Loop at the top can be used to string a chain or Ribbon through to hang up or for a Choker or Necklace.  Decor - or Personal Accessory - or Jewelry!

This new one is in a Purple Theme!  Lavender Purple Heart with Plum Purple Roses in it!  The Beads used for this Heart are Crystal Iris Glass Beads with a very slight Purple tint!

I can do one of these Hearts in any color of thread I have - I have a Made-To-Order Listing for an Irish Crochet Heart on Etsy ---

--- and this is one I did in Yarn that is big enough for a Wall Hanging.

This Handmade Crocheted Lace Doily has White Crocheted Multi-layer Roses with 4 Glass White  Pearls crocheted in the middle of each.

Roses are the June Flower - Pearls are a June Birthstone!

Both White Roses and White Pearls are supposed to mean Innocence, Purity, New Beginnings!

So - I thought a Doily such as this with both White Roses and White Pearls would be nice for June - and possibly Decor for June Weddings and/or Brides!

It is 11 Inches in Diameter - with 6 Crocheted Roses around the edge of a Graphic Round Center, which is 6 Inches in Diameter.

 The Rose Doily - in my Etsy Shop

I wanted to incorporate some the Beautiful Polymer Clay Rose Beads made by Julie Cleveland of "polymerclaybeads" on Etsy into my Handmade Crochet - and I felt that the 3D Rose Doily pictured above  was the best idea!

The Light Green center is a Cluny Lace pattern motif I got from a DMC Crochet Book - I crocheted in the 8 Polymer Clay Rose Beads on the end of each of the 8 spokes of the Cluny Lace patterns - so that they were in-between the 8 3D Irish Crochet Roses.

Here is a closeup, where you can see the detail of the Rose Beads on either side of a 3D Pink Crocheted Rose:

The detail on the Rose Beads are of individual Roses and Leaves in Polymer Clay Handmade by Julie Cleveland - and placed on a clay bead.

 The 3D Irish Crochet Rose is crocheted in DMC Pearl Cotton in Shaded Pinks - with 4 Layers of Crocheted Petals.

So!  It's another Great Finds from On Fire For Handmade!

This time it's called "Strawberry and Mint" - and it's about the colors Pink and Green!

In my Colorful Crochet - both in Threads and Yarn - I have quite a bit in both Pink and Green - and combinations of the 2, like the above "Roses and Shamrocks"!

The "Giant" Irish Crochet Rose - the Center Focus Point of this piece - is 5 1/2 Inches in Diameter - with 6 Layers of Petals - on the Outer Layer of the Rose are 16 Petals.

Well, I guess you might think these Orange (with some Yellow) Crocheted Roses - on the Table Topper I made - are a bit Outrageous - I added some Copper-y Kreinik Metallic Blending Filament to the edges of the Crocheted Roses - and the Tan Lace - to add some Sparkle!

June is known as a Month of Romance - June Weddings, June Anniversaries, June Roses - as the Rose is one of the Flowers associated with June!
